A literature review was conducted utilizing mappings, couplings, and diagrams, employing VOSViewer and SciMat software, resulting in the selection. The world market review revealed a significant increase in research related to smart cities over the years, particularly from 2014 to 2021, indicating growing interest and relevance in the field. The study identified key thematic areas, including technology and innovation, environment, urbanism, energy, governance, mobility, and accessibility. The findings contribute to a cohesive understanding of innovative smart city actions and practices, integrating technology, innovation, and market-driven approaches to address urban challenges, while fostering collaboration between public institutions and private enterprises to enhance urban spaces.
